About the Medical Centre

Claremont Medical Centre is a GP practice located in Walthamstow, East London and provides services to approximately 2900 patients. Claremont Medical Centre originally based at 29-31 Claremont Road was destroyed by a fire on 15 October 2016. The practice now provides services to patients from a converted premises next door.

 

Primary medical care is provided under a General Medical Services (GMS) contract with NHS England and the practice is part of the Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). (GMS is one of the three contracting routes that have been available to enable commissioning of primary medical services). Claremont Medical Centre is registered as a partnership with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide the regulated activities of treatment of disease, disorder or injury, maternity and midwifery services, family planning, surgical procedures and diagnostic and screening procedures.

 

The practice is open between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday with the exception of Wednesday when the practice closes at 8pm and Thursday at 6:30pm. Extended hours appointments are offered on Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm. Pre-bookable appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance; urgent appointments as well as telephone consultations are also available daily. Out of hours services are delivered by another provider which is detailed in the practice leaflet, posters at reception and can be directly accessed by calling the practice telephone number

Information is shared if your GP refers you to a hospital, you are moved from one hospital to another, you need support at home, such as a visit from a district nurse, or NHS 111 refers you to a GP or another part of the NHS.
